The entire staff was 20 something white kids because most of the clients would not permit any minorities on their properties. I do landscape design in Texas, our installers and subs will sometimes charge extra to work in certain gated communities. They expect to get hassled, usually not as bad as this, but often enough to where it’s baked into the cost of doing business. All of my crew were professional-looking, mix of white and Asian people. We wouldn’t deliver in that community anymore even if COVID weren’t going on.

There’s an Official Cat Shut Up Karen Vintage Shirt (well, did before COVID), and I can only imagine what people of color would have to put up with. I got bitched out for not belonging because my work truck wants brand new, so clearly I’m casing the neighborhood to see who to rob. All awhile wearing shirts with giant company logos, going in and out of a wrapped company trailer behind the wrapped company truck. Really the bottom line is there are some miserable people out there that have nothing better to do than hassle someone. It’s seen as this progressive health nut dreamland. in reality, they are still very racist
