I haven’t heard much about BLM protests in Germany lately. I thought it was just a phenomenon of global boredom that they protested. No one seems to be covering all the peaceful protests in the US either. We just have also wildly violent police forces and armed fascists wandering the streets, so that’s where the cameras go.

The weird thing is I’ve noticed all the shit going on here has made a lot of Americans be way more aware of what is going on in other countries for the first time. I think a lot of it is conservative Official Leader to Society II Shirt media deflecting the chaos happening under trump. But when redneck coworkers are saying stuff like “Maybe the NBA should be less China-centric and care about Hong Kong” it is mind-blowing. They don’t really know whats going on, but even knowing something is going on is a big change for them.
