As kids we would sit on this tree with horizontal branches pretending it was motorbikes and the robot would be in the middle of the tree as like our commander. I also had a red one. Coolest watch I had until they made watches with Infra-Red blasters that could remote control almost any type of TV. Around the same time I got a couple of Gobots. Robots were fairly big back then. But G.I. Joe was more my thing back then. And at that age, I was 9 or 10, the bathtub was huge compared to me. As a 6′ tall 190lb adult I barely fit in the tub anymore. If I had an 8’x4′ tub I would probably still be sitting in there playing with my toys.

Ohhh those were great times. I had one too, no idea where it how I got it. Oddly enough it was my favorite bathtime toy. I would have this watch guy and some other transformers on the edge of the tub battling it out. Watch guy would get knocked into the water, and his screen would slowly die. I would there was also another robot called Frenzy. One was red and one was blue, but no one can agree upon which was which. Hen rescue him and after a few minutes the screen would come back on.

Kronoform was the outside Japan release of their brand Microchange which was a line of realistic items that changed into robots. One of the original toy lines Hasbro used to create the Transformers brand in 84. It included toys that would become the characters of Soundwave, Megatron, Blaster, and Perceptor. I would watch the hell out of Transformers doing shit jobs. There is a rescue bot named Salvage who is a garbage truck and I thought he traveled light years to be a fucking dumpster on earth. I would love to see his backstory. They re-released the original Soundwave toy and some of his tapes at Walmart. But he costs the price of the bigger, more expensive “leader class” figures for some reason. I think it’s because the figure has a diecast in it. Luckily though it’s getting to the point where he’s being discounted so you can get him like way cheaper.
