I do spin class, I hike, I go bike riding, I walk the dog, go swimming when the pools are open – I’m reasonably active and in decent shape. I hate running. It is a torturous, god awful activity designed to punish us for our sins and the sins of our forebears. I will take a root canal over having to run 5k. It sucks, it is awful, it is not enjoyable, and it’s not because I’m out of shape. I’m not built for running. Actually I have a bad knee and an ankle that likes to randomly sprain itself. Running f’ing hurts like hell. You’re definitely not!! Life long swimmer here and running is the worst! It’s why swimmers hate dry land training. That’s definitely not common sense to me, because I always speed up going uphill to try to maintain the same pace.
