I’ve heard spayed females are notorious for bringing home “gifts”, since they teach their kittens to hunt so when they’ve got no one to teach they bring them home to show their humans. Not sure how correct that is, though. Our 10-year-old spayed girl started doing this when we brought home our kitten last year. My family gets mad at our cat for doing that and I yell at them every time to lay off. They really don’t understand animal behavior.

Omg this is so funny!! I love this. My spayed girl is 11 and I always thought she’d love kittens (to foster, of course). This makes me want to foster some kittens and see what she does! When we brought home a kitten, the first thing he did was jump up on the couch to greet our female, and… At first we thought she was ok with him, but I guess she was just too shocked to react at first, because then she hissed and swatted at him, and he fell off the couch backward. That kind of sums up their relationship for the next year or so — he’d try to play with her, and would often roll around on his back making cute little noises at her, but she didn’t want anything to do with him. They got along fine once he got older and calmed down some, though. Although I don’t think she was ever as fond of him as he was of her. my one cat will yowl if she gets a toy mouse, but I’m almost certain it’s because she’s super bored and wants to play.

My cat brought gifts home to the dog. And the dog was incredibly grateful. It all seemed to work out for them. My animals all gang up if something gets in the house.
